A new, month-long “Dine Out Dorchester” promotion aimed at supporting the Dorchester Day Parade is now underway through May 31 at participating neighborhood restaurants.

The campaign encourages residents to support local businesses while helping to raise funds for the annual parade celebration. Participating restaurants will offer special menu items, rotating weekly specials, cocktails, desserts, and pizza promotions, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Dorchester Day Parade Committee.

Among the participating businesses are McGonagle’s, dbar, Harp + Bard, Tavolo, Sally’s Apizza, Milkweed, American Provisions, Banshee, Yellow Door Taqueria, Yeanie’s Burgers & Social, and Ice Creamsmith.  Organizers are encouraging customers to share photos from participating restaurants on social media using the hashtag #DineOutDorchester.

Among the featured specials are Tavolo’s “May Margarita” on Thursdays, McGonagle’s Crispy Spice Bag Burger with curry sauce and spicy fries; and The Ice Creamsmith’s “All Roads Lead to Chocolate,” double-rich chocolate ice cream loaded with brownie pieces, chocolate chips, and chocolate sprinkles.

The campaign will help the all-volunteer parade committee pay for the many expenses of parade day. But it’s also a great way to build awareness for this year’s June 7 parade. See you there!
