Boston Police say a man was shot in the neck on Tuesday night (June 30) on Talbot Avenue in Dorchester.
According to a BPD report, officers from District B-3 responded at about 8:53 p.m. to a report of a person shot near the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Talbot. Officers found the victim conscious and alert by the basketball court next to the Joseph Lee School.
Police said the victim told officers he had been on a black moped when he heard multiple shots, saw a group of people running, and then felt a sharp pain on the left side of his neck. Officers rendered aid at the scene before Boston EMS transported him to Boston Medical Center.
Hospital staff later told police that the victim had suffered a single gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening. B-3 detectives processed the scene, and officers canvassed the area for a suspect but did not locate one, according to the report. Police listed the suspect as unknown.
