The Grove at The Lawn on D will host a summer series of public viewing parties for the Irish Gaelic Athletic Association championship games, billing itself as a Boston hub for fans of hurling and Gaelic football.
The new South Boston Waterfront venue, located at 420 D St., will stream GAA matches on its big screens throughout July, with cabanas and lounges available for reservation. The series opens this weekend with the hurling semifinals: Cork vs. Galway on Sat., July 4, at 9:30 a.m., and Clare vs. Limerick on Sun., July 5, at 10 a.m. Football semifinals follow on July 11 and 12, with the hurling final set for July 19 and the football final on July 26. Doors will open one hour before each match.
The events will feature Irish-inspired food and drink specials, including a Jambon breakfast sandwich, corned beef egg rolls, Magners Irish cider, Irish mules, and iced Irish coffee with Jameson, Atomic Cold Brew, and whipped cream. The Grove, which opened in June, is described as an outdoor “urban botanical oasis” with greenery, twinkle lights, cabanas, food and beverage containers, and summer programming.
