The annual Kiddie’s Carnival marched down Talbot Avenue from Codman Square to Blue Hill Avenue last Saturday afternoon (Aug. 22). Hundreds of young people in detailed feathered and sequined costumes paraded down the street with a dozen or more “mas” camp groups – and legions of parents and grandparents in tow taking pictures and videos.
Organizer Danielle Johnson, of BSOCCAH, said it was the fourth year they have organized and executed the Kiddie’s Carnival event on Talbot Avenue.
The event was put on by the Boston Society of Caribbean Culture and Heritage (BSOCCAH) ahead of this weekend’s Boston Caribbean Carnival.
This year, Mayor Michelle Wu, was a special guest who walked with the masqueraders to the Blue Hill Boys and Girls Club, where the march concluded.
