Boston Public Schools is inviting students, parents, staff, and community members to help select a new name for the merged Shaw-Taylor Elementary School. The process, launched in June, will continue through the fall, with public hearings scheduled for November and December.
A final recommendation is expected to go before the School Committee in the winter or spring next year.
Under district policy, school names may honor individuals who have made significant contributions to education or society, reflect the neighborhood where a school is located, or recognize an academic theme. Submissions can be made through an online survey at bit.ly/ShawTaylor-Name or through a submission box at the school.
