JustBook-ish will host a busy calendar of literary, cultural, and family events throughout August. The month begins with a Carine & Co. pop-up on Aug. 1 and an “Untold Narratives” storytelling showcase on Aug. 2. The store will then be closed for vacation from Aug. 4 through Aug. 10.

Programming resumes with a health care and cannabis panel discussion curated by Drudys Ledbetter on Aug. 11, followed by a teen empowerment open mic on Aug. 12. Family programming includes “Kiddie Korner” events on Aug. 15 and Aug. 22.

Other highlights include an Aug. 18 author talk with Michael Leach on “Faith Over Fear,” an LGBTQ+ storytelling and disability pride event on Aug. 20; a poetry slam and open mic featuring Nick Martino on Aug. 21; and a live music series featuring vocalist Sunnie W. on Aug. 25.

Later events include a discussion of “The War Before”on Aug. 26, a Morrison Seminar on Aug. 27, a queer coloring club on Aug. 28, a Black August forum on Aug. 29, and an anthology reading of “Foresythe” on Aug. 30.
