Boston firefighters are on the scene of a three-alarm fire this morning at a vacant three-family home at 132 Savin Hill Ave.
The blaze has burned through the building’s rear porches and interior rear stairways, according to the Boston Fire Department. Flames also spread to a vehicle and nearby garages.
A second and third alarm were ordered as firefighters worked to prevent the fire from reaching neighboring buildings along Savin Hill Avenue by the bridge over the expressway and Red Line.
Crews knocked down the heaviest flames and remain at the scene extinguishing hotspots inside the home, the garages, and the damaged vehicle.
Neighbors told fire officials that the building was vacant, according to a BFD post. The cause of the fire was not immediately disclosed.
