The annual Little Miss and Young Miss Dorchester contests took place on Sat., May 20 at First Parish Church on Meetinghouse Hill. The event is held in the spring each year for girls ages 7 to 12. The contest celebrates young women in Dorchester and the love they have for their neighborhood.
Little Miss Dorchester was awarded to Isabella Cardoso, a third grader at The Mather School, who loves spending time at Savin Hill Beach watching baseball games and the sunset and building sand castles. Young Miss Dorchester was awarded to Tuala Curley, a sixth grader at Hurley K-8, who has been a participant for several years in both contests and is very excited to be 2017’s Young Miss Dorchester.
The winners will ride in a convertible near the front of Sunday’s parade.
