Nathalie Lecorps and her team at Gourmet Kreyol officially transitioned their base of operations from a mobile food truck to a brick-and-mortar fast-casual restaurant at 1210 Blue Hill Ave. in Mattapan on Saturday in a well-attended grand opening celebration.
Lecorps started the food truck and catering business in 2021. She was raised in Miami, Florida, where her parents operated Gourmet Kreyol, a Haitian-American restaurant for many years. Upon moving to Boston, she brought the same flavors and energy – and name – to her company.

On Saturday, her whole family joined her for the milestone.
“Gourmet Kreyol!” chanted the crowd several times following the official ribbon cutting with Mayor Michelle Wu and City Council President Ruthzee Louijeune.
The afternoon celebration took over the parking lot at the space, which will be a take-out location and a commissary kitchen for their food truck and catering business. The festival atmosphere included unique juice drinks and a menu of some of the business’s specialty dishes.
Lecorps is also working on opening a Haitian and Caribbean fusion sit-down restaurant in Codman Square called Doune e Pepe, which is vying for a full liquor license and will serve small plates and bites in a family-friendly atmosphere. That is expected to open later this year.
