The Boston Licensing Board on Thursday approved plans by Joey Arcari to sell his liquor license for 1121 Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester to Five Horses Tavern for its third craft-beer-focused bar and restaurant.

Five Horses will also concentrate on “locally sourced modern American comfort food,” its attorney, Kristen Scanlon, told the licensing board at a hearing on Wednesday.

She added it could open this spring.

The new tavern will have 198 seats, which will include some seats on a patio that was recently enclosed for year-round dining, she said.

The space sits on the ground floor of a 21-unit apartment building Arcari built.

In addition to the existing Five Horses Taverns on Columbus Avenue in the South End and Davis Square, owner Dylan Welsh’s Hawkeye Hospitality  also runs the Garrison House in Brookline Village.
