Elisa M. Speranza will appear at the Adams Street Branch Library in Dorchester on Wed., June 10 at 6 p.m. as part of a book tour for her new novel, “Triage.” The event, at 690 Adams St., will feature Speranza in conversation with Reporter editor Bill Forry.
“Triage” follows an Army nurse confronting the lingering ghosts of war while seeking a path toward healing. The novel has been praised by Luis Alberto Urrea, author of “Good Night, Irene,” as “fascinating, gripping, and profoundly moving.”
Speranza, who grew up in Lynn and Swampscott and lived for many years in Dorchester, now lives in New Orleans and Oak Bluffs. She is the author of “The Italian Prisoner,” a 2022 historical novel that was a finalist in the Faulkner-Wisdom Creative Writing Competition. She serves on the board of the New Orleans Writers Workshop and has appeared at literary gatherings including the Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival, the Louisiana Book Festival, Islanders Write, and Salem LitFest.
Books will be available for purchase at the event. More information is available at elisamariesperanza.com.
