Police say that crashing his own car was just the start of a creating a trail of destruction outbound on Blue Hill Avenue that, in addition to killing one woman, injured a second person and left several cars and an MBTA bus damaged. At one point, another an ambulance was summoned for a third person who had a panic attack at seeing the scene.
According to police, Matos crashed his own car into another on Blue Hill Avenue at Woodhaven Street around 2 p.m., got out, then went up to a woman waiting in line at the Fernandez Xpress car wash and pulled her out of her car, then drove the wrong way down the sidewalk on Blue Hill Avenue towards Mattapan Square:

Blue Hill Avenue from Woodhaven Street to River Street remained shut for both cleanup and investigation nearly three hours later.
Police report arresting a second man at the scene several hours later who had nothing to do with the crashes or Matos, but who they say insisted on being a joker at the crime scene:
While guarding the crime scene for a fatal motor vehicle collision that had occurred hours earlier, officers were alerted that an unknown male had entered the taped off crime scene near the intersection of Fairway Street and Blue Hill Avenue. Officers observed the suspect video recording the scene while laughing. As officers approached the suspect he took off and began running through the crime scene. The suspect ignored verbal commands from officers and then dumped a cup containing an unknown liquid into the middle of the crime scene.
