Clara Long credits her academic success to persistence and the support of the school community that she has been a part of since 5th grade at Boston Collegiate Charter School.
A standout student with a passion for math and science, Long has also been a facilitator and mentor among her peers, serving as a restorative justice leader since 9th grade. This year she captained the girls’ varsity volleyball team, helping to lead the team to its first championship win in the Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Conference.
This fall, Long plans to study chemical engineering and artificial intelligence at Northeastern University, where she won a prestigious Boston Valedictorian Scholarship.
With strong ties to the Boston area as a native of South Boston, she is excited to stay close to home even as she explores who she is beyond academics.
