The Mayor’s Cup softball tournament took place Friday and Saturday on Roberto Clemente Field in the Fenway with several divisions battling it out over the two-day, double elimination tournament.
In the top division, 18U, The Base Astros on the Dorchester/Roxbury line came back from the loser’s bracket and beat the North End Executioners team twice to claim the Mayor’s Cup. Coach Alicia Cacho, of Dorchester, commended the girls on their performance.
Players included Aliah Rosa (Dorchester), Ariadni Cruz-Piña, Brisneilys Vasquez (Dorchester), Camila Roper, Jade DeDominici (Dorchester), Jadelin Then (Dorchester), Marion Mosman, Maci Lyons, Samaya Rivera, Presley Arias (Dorchester), Talia Concepcion, Taryn Daniel (Dorchester), Yana Guerrero, and Zania Johnson.
