Mayor Wu today announced a new set of free, family-friendly watch parties across Boston for the remaining FIFA World Cup matches, running through the end of the tournament.
The City has already hosted five watch parties featuring high-profile international matchups, drawing community participation across neighborhoods.
Upcoming events will continue across multiple venues, including Road Runner, Big Night Live, and Christopher Columbus Park, with additional semifinal, third-place, and final match locations to be announced.
Key upcoming dates include a doubleheader on Friday, July 3rd, for the Round of 32 games between Cabo Verde vs. Argentina, as well as Columbia vs. Ghana, with both being shown at the Roadrunner in Allston.
The city will also host a watchparty at Big Night Live for the Round of 16 matchup of the United States vs. Belgium on Monday, July 6th.
State Senator Liz Miranda noted the significance of Cabo Verde’s participation, pointing to strong local community ties in Boston and encouraging residents to attend celebrations supporting the team.
“Our district is home to one of the largest Cabo Verdean communities in the country,” said Miranda. “Tomorrow we have another opportunity to come together to celebrate that pride on the world stage”.
