A 22-year-old Worcester man was ordered held on $250,000 bail at his arraignment in Dorchester court last week on a manslaughter charge in the fatal stabbing of 30-year-old Wesley Humphrey, also of Worcester.
Lordly Churcher is accused of stabbing Humphrey during an altercation in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Harvard Street early on Aug. 17.
Boston Police responded to 301 Harvard St. at about 3:17 a.m. and found Humphrey suffering from a stab wound to his arm and chest area. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, investigators identified Churcher through witness statements and surveillance video. Worcester Police arrested him on Sept. 2 on an unrelated Worcester District Court warrant charging him with larceny over $1,200 by a single scheme.
Prosecutors said Churcher admitted that he stabbed Humphrey after a verbal dispute became physical. Churcher is due back in court on Sept. 22 for a probable cause hearing.

Boston Police arrested a 38-year-old man last week in connection with a string of armed robberies reported in Dorchester over a four-day span last month. The suspect, John Kennedy, was taken into custody at about 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 2 near 13 Westcott St., according to police. At the time, Kennedy was also wanted on warrants issued out of Suffolk Superior Court and Lawrence District Court on charges including armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny from a person, and strangulation.
Police say the Dorchester robberies began shortly before 8 a.m. on Aug. 28 near 124 Harvard St., where a suspect brandished a knife and escaped with about $250. Later that night, a convenience store at 44 Norfolk St. was robbed at knifepoint, police said. A third robbery was reported at about 5:52 p.m. on Aug. 31 near 613 Park St, where, police said, he assaulted a store employee before fleeing with about $1,500.

Shawn Padilla, 47, of Mattapan was arrested on Sept. 2 by members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit and the US Marshals Service, for a shooting that happened on the night of Aug. 26 outside 288 Roxbury St., where officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to both legs. Officers applied a tourniquet before the victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Padilla was expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges including assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and carrying a loaded firearm, third offense.
