Firefighters road race returns to Dorchester’s streets on Sunday morning

The 44th annual Boston Firefighters Memorial 10K Road Race will return to Dorchester on Sunday, Oct. 11, with a 9 a.m. start at Florian Hall on Hallet Street.

The event, which raises money for the Boston Fire Department Relief Fund, features a 10K race along a certified course through Dorchester, as well as a 5K run and walk. The annual tradition brings together firefighters, families, competitive runners, and neighborhood residents to honor the service and sacrifice of Boston firefighters.

The event will cause road closures on Sunday morning , including on Gallivan Boulevard and Morrissey Blvd.

All registered participants will receive a commemorative medal, with race shirts available while supplies last. A post-race gathering will also be held.

Registration remains open, with fees of $55.49 for civilian 10K runners, $50.14 for firefighters, and $44.79 for the 5K run/walk. Virtual participation is also available.
