Intramural Flag Football – The 4-team Junior division (ages 8-12) of Intramural Flag Football kicked off this past weened. In the opener the Bengals defeated the Panthers 38-32. Thomas Smalls (2 TD’s), Jayden Robles (2 TD’s), and Patrick Kelley (1 TD) led the Begals while Nasir Monteiro (3 TD’s), Demetrius Parra (2 TD’s) and Patrick DaSilva (1TD) led the Panthers. In the second game the Jaguards, behind Sebastian Coyle (4 TD’s), Thomas Christopher (2 TD’s), and John Pierre (1 TD) defeated the Lions 42-34. The Lions were led by Jamil Boykin (2 TD’s), Joshua Bennett (2 TD’s), and Ebson DaSilva (1 TD). The league will continue play through November followed by the play-off tournament. CS First Coding Program – The Education program is teaming with Google, the Corporation for National Service, Boston Cares and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to host the CS First Coding program. Volunteers work with club members to increase student access and exposure to computer science education through real world themes. Three classes are being offered on Monday eveings and additional classes will be offered at our Denney Center Unit. Lights on After School – To celebrate National Lights on After School Day, the Social Recreation program will be hosting a series of events on 10/22 in the Gamesroom for members ages 5-12. There will be drop-in activities such as tournaments and outside games, and members of the Torch Club will be volunteering.
