Teen Program News – The Teen program at the Club offers drop-in activities weekdays from 2:00-9:00 p.m. for members ages 13-18. On the Career Prep front we will host our final Job Ready class, in partnership with the City of Boston’s Dept. of Youth Engagement & Employment on 2/24. In conjunction, teens ages 15-18 are encouraged to register at youth.boston.gov. for the Summer Jobs program. Meanwhile, the Keystone Club, our Teen Leadership program, will be hosting a Carnival during the school vacation, volunteering with the Massachusetts Special Olympics and working on a Hack-a-thon event for younger members being held at Google. Tween Program – Thanks to funding from the Dorchester Health Initiative of Tufts Medical Center, the Club offers a special program component for ages 11-15 that includes, fitness, nutrition, life skills and inclusion components for this age group. Currently we offer Nutrition Classes, Create-a-Cook, non-contact Boxing Class, CrossFit classes (in partnership with 617 CrossFit), a Boys Group, and Field Trip Fridays. Members of the Boston Police Dept. joined participants from the Martin Richard Challenger Basketball program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester as the guests of Northeastern University where they played at half-time.
Summer Program Registration – The Club will be holding registration for the Summer program serving ages 5-12 on 3/12 (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.), 3/14 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and 3/16 (5:00 – 8:00 p.m.). The program will run from 7/5 to 8/10 on an 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. schedule. There will be a $400 fee for ages 5 & 6 and a $300 fee for ages 7-12.
