Education Program Events – The Education program has a number of special events and deadlines upcoming. 3/25 will mark the deadline for applications to take part in the NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) Academies this Summer. Open to members entering grades 8-12, there will be two Academies (one for Girls and one Co-ed) taking place at Suffolk University’s Entrepreneurship Center. On 4/2 we will offer a trip for H.S. females to the “Her Conference,” taking place at Tufts University. On 4/22 Education will partner with the Keystone Club and Google to take 50 members to a Hack-a-thon Event at Google’s Cambridge site. Music Clubhouse Idol Competition – The Music Clubhouse is gearing up for the Annual Clubhouse Idol competition for members ages 10-18. Members are currently auditioning for a spot in the competition which will include a Hollywood Round Semi-Final showcase on 4/4, a Performance Workshop with Berklee College for all participants on 4/8, and the Finale on 4/29. All performances will be held at the Club and the winning act will receive an I-Pad. Good luck to all of the performers. Marilyn Rodman Theater for Kids Program – The Club is excited to partner with the Marilyn Rodman Theater for Kids program to offer two theater trips. On 3/29 a group will travel to the Opera House to see “The Sound of Music.” On 4/20, during the April school break, a group will travel to the CitiWang Center for a matinee performance of “The Wizard of Oz.” For info, please contact Jessica Hulslander (jhulslander@bgcdorchester.org).
