A flurry of gun violence has disrupted life in parts of Dorchester and Mattapan in recent days.
A 30-year-old Randolph man was found shot to death outside a home at 28 Woolson St. in Mattapan on Saturday night (May 9). Officers responding to the address around 11:39 p.m. found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck outside the address.
The victim, later identified as Michael Jacob, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police reports. The homicide— the fourth in the city this year— remains under investigation.
Two shot on porch of Kingsdale Street home
On Sunday (May 10), two people were wounded by gunfire in Dorchester. Officers responding to 69 Kingsdale St. (shown above) around 6:45-6:50 p.m. found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds on a porch outside the residence. One victim had a gunshot wound to the head, while the second victim was struck in the left arm and leg, according to police reports. Both were transported by EMS to area hospitals for treatment. Police said the shooting remains under investigation.
The incident drew a massive police response and a furious search on the streets in the West of Washington section of Dorchester.

Two shot on Geneva Avenue
Earlier that day, two men were wounded in a shooting near the intersection of Geneva Avenue and Olney and Everton streets. Officers responding to a radio call for a person shot around 2 a.m. and found two mini-motorbikes in the street. One of the victims told officers, “I’ve been shot.” Investigators said the men had been riding mini bikes toward Bowdoin Street when someone opened fire from a group gathered in a car parked near Everton Street.
One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right shoulder and the second was struck in the right arm. Both were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Police said the suspect was described as wearing a black mask, white hooded sweatshirt, and brown pants.
Shots fired damage Dorchester home on Waldeck Street
A home on Waldeck Street was struck by bulletson Monday night. Officers responding to 75 Waldeck St. around 8:25 p.m. found gunfire damage to the front door and side window of the residence, along with ballistic evidence on the street and sidewalk outside the home, according to a police report.
Witnesses told police a silver Kia Soul had been parked nearby shortly before the shooting and that an individual dressed in black exited the vehicle and fired multiple shots toward the residence before fleeing. No injuries were reported. Detectives recovered ballistic evidence and were seeking possible surveillance footage from nearby homes.
Man critically wounded in Dacia Street shooting
One man was critically injured in a shooting on Dacia Street in Dorchester early Tuesday morning, according to Boston police. Officers responding to 25 Dacia St. shortly after 1:15 a.m. found evidence of multiple shootings in the area, including damage to homes on Dacia Street, shell casings, blood trails and a damaged Toyota Camry.
Police said ShotSpotter recorded rounds fired near 23 and 30 Dacia St. Officers later learned that a gunshot victim had arrived at Boston Medical Center suffering from serious injuries. Investigators also seized a BMW X5 and a Jeep Compass as evidence in connection with the incident.
Residents in the area provided detectives with video footage, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Roxbury man shot multiple times near Cheney Street
A man was shot multiple times Tuesday night near Cheney Street in Roxbury, according to a BPD report. Officers responding to a call for a person shot at 58 Cheney St. around 10:17 p.m. found the victim suffering from several gunshot wounds.
The victim told police he had been sitting inside his vehicle when a black vehicle approached and someone opened fire. Police said the man was struck twice in the left arm and twice in the chest before fleeing on foot. His vehicle, parked nearby on Maple Street, had bullet holes in the windshield and shattered glass on the roof. Boston EMS transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for treatment.
Detectives recovered ballistic evidence and towed a Mercedes-Benz coupe believed connected to the incident.
