The Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation will host its Caribbean Jerk Festival on Sun., July 26, from 1 to 5 p.m. at 44 Moultrie St. in Dorchester.
The family-friendly festival will feature Caribbean food, live music, local vendors, and activities for children and guests of all ages. A rain date is scheduled for Sun., Aug. 2.
The festival has become a popular neighborhood tradition celebrating the Caribbean restaurants, entrepreneurs, musicians, and residents who contribute to the cultural life of Codman Square. Past editions have offered jerk chicken, oxtail, plantains, vegetarian dishes, steel-drum music, lawn games, and shopping opportunities with local vendors.
“The Jerk Festival celebrates community members throughout Dorchester who make Codman Square a great place to live, work, play, and shop,” said former CSNDC executive director Gail Latimore ahead of the 2023 festival.
Admission is free. The event is sponsored by United Way, Santander, Bald Hill Builders, UMass Boston, and NeighborWorks.
