The dinner was an annual event with a small group of people (about 50) who have been involved with former US Attorney General Eric Holder, who heads up the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.
He was the host at the annual dinner and discussion time Q&A about the committee’s work, which was held on Aug. 31 in a house in Chilmark on Martha’s Vineyard.
Former President Barack Obama and former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were among the 50 or so guests, along with Dorchester Reporter columnist Bill Walczak, who took the opportunity to engage with the former president.
He told him about The Reporter and his recent story on Dr. Hal May, of community medicine and Tuskegee Airman fame.
He then presented the goods, a copy of the story.
