If you spotted Eva Longoria running up and down a three-decker-lined street in Dorchester this morning, don’t worry, you weren’t dreaming.

The Desperate Housewives star is in the neighborhood shooting a film adaptation of Francisco X. Strok’s acclaimed young adult novel “Marcelo in the Real World.”

Longoria and her co-star Eugenio Derbez were shooting scenes today on Taft Street right, off of Dot Ave. and Pleasant Street.

The feature film, directed by Lucia Puenzo and produced by Zeta Studios and Elefantec Global, follows 17-year-old Marcelo Sandoval, who is on the autism spectrum and gaining “real world” experience working at his father’s corporate law firm in downtown Boston.

Details of Longoria and Derebez’s roles have not been publicly released, but the pair were spotted on Taft Street early this morning. The street is home to one of the city’s finest collections of signature three-deckers and was also the home-base of former Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.

Taft Street is currently under a no-parking restriction and will remain closed to through traffic all-day.

On Tuesday, Longoria and Derbez were seen filming scenes in Chelsea.

Around 9 a.m., producers called for quiet on set, and Longoria and Derebez ran from between 16 and 18 Taft into the street, shouting the protagonist’s name along the way.

But camera crews and Craft Services are nothing new to Taft and its environs. In 2007, the neighborhood made it to the big screen in Ben Affleck’s Gone Baby Gone (an adaptation of a novel by Dot’s own Dennis Lehane), and in 2013 the street was featured in The Heat, an action-comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.

Leonardo DiCaprio also filmed a scene from The Departed in a three-decker on nearby Hallam Street.

“Marcelo in the Real World” will also feature Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Mathew Borrero, and Ema Giménez Zapiola. An official release date has not yet been announced.
