Obama to visit TechBoston Academy on Tuesday

President Obama will be dropping by TechBoston Academy on Tuesday, March 8, a White House official confirmed on Thursday.

The school, a pilot part of Boston Public Schools, opened in September 2002. Its sponsors and partners include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Boston Foundation, Microsoft, UMass Boston and Harvard University, among others.

The visit was first reported by the Boston Globe, which noted that Melinda Gates and U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will also be attending the president's tour of the school.
