City Hall asks: Hey, who wants a tree?

Is there a place in front of your home or business that looks like a good location to plant a tree? The Boston Parks and Recreation Department has 150 surplus trees and wants to plant them before their spring planting cycle ends on July 1.

The Parks Department is taking requests now through Friday, June 3. Requests received after that date will go into the fall planting cycle beginning in September.

Any city resident can request to have a street tree planted on the sidewalk in front of their home or business whether or not there is an existing tree pit— and as long the location meets the tree planting requirements spelled out here.

Go online, use the BOS:311 or call 617-635-PARK.
