Jonathan DePina of Savin Hill claimed a victory in his pro boxing debut last Friday at Encore Boston Harbor Resort. In an evenly contested match, DePina defeated his opponent, Robbie Thomas of Michigan, with a flurry of punches in the fourth and final round of the lightweight bout to pick up a KO. With the victory, DePina, 24, adds to a decorated amateur record which includes the title belt at last year’s New England regional Golden Gloves tournament.
