A stabbing at the Burke; man dies after hit by car

A student was stabbed — allegedly by another student—inside Jeremiah E. Burke High School on Monday morning, according to Boston Police. The victim’s wounds were reportedly non-life-threatening. As part of their investigation, police on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old Randolph teen in connection with the case.

A 91-year-old Dorchester man was fatally injured last Thursday (Sept. 8) when he was struck by a car at the intersection of Morton Street and Selden Street in Dorchester just after 9:30 a.m. The victim was rushed to Beth Israel Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. The driver of the BMW who hit the pedestrian stayed on the scene and was interviewed by State Police, who say the victim was in the crosswalk when he was hit. “The investigation into the crash is ongoing to determine whether criminal charges are warranted,” State Police said. The victim later died from his injuries, according to state Rep. Russell Holmes.

A woman was arrested inside Ashmont Station last Thursday after she allegedly assaulted two people during a dispute involving use of the station’s restroom. Transit Police officers said they observed the suspect— Tasheaka Buchanan, 27, strike a man and woman whom she confronted. Arresting officers say Buchanan “exhibited signs of intoxication” and found that she was wanted for arrest on outstanding warrants for assaults and other charges out of Dorchester, Roxbury, and South Boston courts.

A 27-year-old Dorchester man was arrested last Thursday by a team of law enforcement officers, including the FBI Gang Task Force and Boston Police Drug Control Unit. Tristan Preval has been charged with illegal gun possession and drug dealing. During a search warrant, police say they recovered a 9mm Glock with a high-capacity feeding device, “two plastic bags of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, and two plastic bags of a rock like substance believed to be crack cocaine.”
