Police responded at 1:40 this morning to a report of a breaking and entering and a person shot at 107 Bloomfield St., where they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment in the three-decker style home.
The victim was later pronounced dead by Boston EMS at the scene.
After consultation with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, police arrested 30-year-old Angel Rivera, 30, who reportedly was living at the home apartment, and charged him with manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
He was to be arraigned later today in Dorchester District Court. Sources said the suspected shooter and the suspected victim were known to each other.
The BPD’s Homicide Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
