Community members are invited to attend Area C-11’s Community CompStat meeting beginning on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial United Methodist Church at 378 Washington Street.

Community CompStat meetings are meant to encourage more dialogue between police leadership and residents. In the church basement, Boston Police Department Commissioner Michael Cox, command staff, and C-11 officers will answer questions, share crime data, and develop strategies to reduce crime in the neighborhood.

In a Facebook post last month, BPD shared that at the meetings, “Residents hear first hand from leadership and officers about trends, but most importantly, these meetings give us a chance to hear directly from those we serve about what they feel our priorities should be. What do they see happening in their neighborhoods so we can engage in meaningful conversations about how best to help people to be and to feel safe in our City.”

The meetings are modeled after BPD’s internal CompStat meetings and have become an important resource in community policing efforts.

All are welcome.
