The Greater Four Corners Action Coalition (GFCAC) opened its annual Four Corners weekend last Friday (July 10) with a theme of “New Beginnings,” kicking off festivities with a lively fish fry and live music at the Cornerstone lot on Bowdoin and Washington Street.
The site was packed with neighbors enjoying hush puppies and cold drinks, as well as Caribbean music by Branches Steel Orchestra. The evening attracted members and leaders with the area neighborhood associations as well as representation from the growing Four Corners business district.
On Saturday, a Family Fun Day took place in Mother’s Rest Park with a bounce house, games, and cookout. A special heartfelt honor went to the late Desrianna Clary, who passed away suddenly in April at a young age. She had been an employee of GFCAC for several years and was recognized “for the tremendous contributions she made to Greater Four Corners Action Coalition and the Greater Four Corners community.”
