Final Week of Summer – The final week of the Summer is going to be an exciting one as we partner with two groups to provide fun for all age groups. Our older members will take part in our Island Adventure program as we partner with the Boston Harbor Islands Alliance for our 2nd Annual Island Hoppers program. There will be an orientation on Friday and that will be followed by Island visits on Monday (George’s), Tuesday (Peddock’s) and Wednesday (Spectacle). The program will wrap up with a special art project on Thursday. For our younger members we will host a three-day series of events with the Boston Police Department. The week will include a trip on the Police Boat, a demonstration by the K-9 Unit and a Carnival. For more information on these events please contact Brendan McDonald (bmcdonald@bgcdorchester.org)
Safe Summer Streets Basketball – The 14-team Safe Summer Streets Basketball program will be coming to a close on 8/12 as we host championship games for all three divisions. The Girls will play at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Intermediate Boys at 7:00 p.m., and the Senior Boys at 8:00 p.m. This will close out the on-site portion of the Summer program.
