Fall Media Arts Program – The Club’s Media Arts program will be offering a variety of Film and Photography classes this Fall. There will be 3 levels of Photography offered including Beginners (Mondays), Intermediate (Wednesdays), and Advanced (Thursdays) classes. The classes will take place at 6:00 p.m. and are open to members ages 10 & older. For those interested in Film we will offer the BGCD Film Academy (Mondays), Making the Short Film (Wednesdays), and Club News Team (Thursdays). There will also be a drop-in Film Club (Fridays). These classes are open to members ages 12 & up. For those looking to experiment before joining a class we will offer Drop-in Film class four afternoons a week between 2:00-4:30 p.m. For information please contact Sam Stockwell (sstockwell@bgcdorchester.org).
Fine Arts Program – In addition to our drop-in classes for members ages 5-12 in the afternoon, the Fine Arts program will offer evening enrichment classes. We will be offering Sculpture (2 classes on Mondays), Painting (2 classes on Tuesdays), Teen Art (Wednesdays), Design (2 classes on Thursdays), and our Museum of Fine Arts Community Partnership Class (Fridays). Rodman Ride for Kids – The Annual Rodman Ride for Kids is fast approaching. On 9/26 riders will head out on the 25, 50 or 100 mile routes to raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club. The Club is actively seeking sponsors (corporate and individual), riders and volunteers for this fun event which begins and ends in Foxboro.
