Marr-lin Swim Team News
The members of the Marr-lin Swim Team have begun full team practices in preparation for the fast approaching dual-meet season. The team will host its traditional Blue/White meet on 10/24 to prepare for the season opening meet against the Watertown Club on 10/31. In November the team will then travel to the Arlington Club on 11/6 before hosting the Taunton Club on 11/14. During the Thanksgiving holiday break the members of the team will hit the water on 11/21 to take part in the Annual Swim-a-thon fundraiser. Each member of the team will swim as many laps as they can within a one-hour time limit. Prior to swimming, members of the team will be seeking pledges from family and friends based on the number of laps they expect to swim. Members of the team will spend the day at the pool counting laps for one another in between their own designated swim time. Funds raised from the event help pay expenses incurred by the team throughout the course of the season. This may include participation in special invitational meets, the regional championships and possibly, the national championships.
