Junior Police Academy – The Club will partner with the Boston Police Department and the Police Athletic League to take part in the Junior Police Academy program during the week of 8/8. The week-long program will see members visiting a variety of recreational sites along with trips to law enforcement locations throughout the City. Past sites have included the Cadet Academy, Headquarters, the K-9 Unit, and more. Currently, 9 spots remain for members ages 9-12. Members must commit to taking part the entire week. Summer Program News – The Club’s on-site Summer day program and the Safe Summer Streets program for teen members will conclude on 8/10. The Day program will host a Field Day for members ages 5-12 while the evening program will hold a BBQ and the championship games for the Safe Summer Streets Basketball league. The program will then move on to our 2 off-site program experiences: Camp Northbound and the Rodman Disney for Kids trips. Camp Northbound will see 150 members head to Bridgton, ME on 8/14 while the Disney for Kids trip will see a group of 150 depart for Orlando, FL on 8/21. Arthur Gallagher Company Visit – Thanks to the 20+ volunteers from Arthur Gallagher Company who visited the Club last Wednesday to take part in a company project. The volunteers helped facilitate our Summer Club Record Day event that saw members competing in contests throughout all core program areas. Winning members were recognized at the end of the day at a ceremony with prizes.
