The Dorchester Reporter’s sister paper, the Boston Haitian Reporter, has the details of an appearance in Dorchester by one of the 19 people running for president and Haiti.
Presidential hopeful Michel Martelly, who is also a musician performing under the name “Sweet Micky,” is due at the Bayside Expo Center on Oct. 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. for a fundraiser.
From the Haitian Reporter: “The fundraiser and rally is the latest effort on the part of local organizers to bring Haiti presidential candidates to the Boston Haitian community to garner support from the diaspora. Boston is home to the third largest Haitian population in the US.”
