King brings national spotlight to Codman Square's big night

John King, OFDJohn King, OFDCNN's John King, broadcasting live alongside Gov. Deval Patrick during last night's Men Cook for Women's Health gala, shows off a souvenir: an Originally from Dorchester bumper sticker. King, who grew up on King Street, told viewers of his "John King USA" program that he intends to find a home for the sticker on the set of his show's studio, which is already layered with Boston sports and political memorabilia. King appeared live from the tented gala several times during his hour-long program and served up food from the Ashmont Grill to guests. At left is Bill Walczak, executive director of the Codman Square Health Center, which sponsors the annual gala to raise funds for women's health programs. Other notable attendees who served as celebrity chefs included the Sen. Scott Brown, former Gov. Mike Dukakis, and the Reporter's own publisher Ed Forry, who dished out servings from the City Fresh Foods alongside Gov. Patrick.
