Friday (17th) - A fundraiser for the Neighborhood House Charter School will feature a silent auction, cash bar at Phillips Banquet Hall, 780 Morrissey Blvd., Dorchester, 7-11 p.m.

Sunday (19th) – Dorchester Historical Society presents: “Hidden Treasures of Dorchester: Architecture of the Railroad Suburb,” 2 p.m. at the New England Carpenters Training Center, 750 Dorchester Ave. Andrew Saxe will give his popular talk on the history of Dorchester architecture for the third time. Refreshed and revised, with new research, new photos and even more historical photos.

• Irish Hearts for Orphans benefit dance at Marriott Boston Quincy 4-8 p.m. features live entertainment by Noel Henry’s Irish Show Band, Erin’s Melody and Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann and Haley School of Irish Dance. Suggested donation $20. More at irishheartsfororphans.com
Monday (20th) – Patriot’s Day, a state holiday in Massachusetts. Red Sox game begins at 11:05 a.m. BAA Boston Marathon begins in Hopkinton at 8:50 a.m.

Tuesday (21st) – Boston Parks & Recreation Department and Boston Centers for Youth & Families invite girls from throughout the city to spend their April school vacation at the All Girls Sports Festival in Roxbury from April 21 to April 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. Activities will be held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at Roxbury Community College, 1350 Columbus Avenue, and the nearby BCYF Madison Park Community Center, Building 4, 55 Malcolm X Boulevard. • A special City Council Committee on the 2024 Olympics holds a hearing at 1:30 p.m. in the Iannella Chamber at Boston City Hall.
• Governor Charlie Baker discusses his first 100 days in office with Boston Globe Editor Brian McGrory at the JFK Library in Dorchester from 6 - 7:30 p.m. All forums are free and open to the public. • Last Days in Vietnam: A Special Screening at the JFK Library 6 - 8 p.m. Join Rory Kennedy, youngest daughter of Robert F. – Tony-Award winning rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar opens at the Strand Theatre tonight at 8 p.m. Show runs through May 3 produced by Fiddlehead Theatre Company.
