The third anniversary of the April 15, 2013 attack on the Boston Marathon was observed with acts of public service and solemn memorials on Friday, including a poignant gathering at the Peabody Square clock, which has been a focal point of mourning and action for the Dorchester community. The Richard family — who lost their son Martin in the terror attack led hundreds of volunteers in a clean-up along Dorchester Avenue on Friday afternoon. Around 2:49— the precise time of the bombings three years ago— those gathered around the clock quieted for a minute of silence, which was followed by memorial chimes from the tower of All Saints Church.
