A three-alarm fire at 12 Stonehurst St. around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday injured two firefighters and displaced six residents, the Boston Fire Department reports.

A three-alarm fire at 77 Romsey St. around 4 a.m. on Friday displaced one resident. WBZ reports firefighters were hampered by "extreme hoarding" on all three floors of the house.

The department reports firefighters eventually had to just leave the building and perform "defensive" firefighting from the outside, to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.

Each fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damage, the department reports.

The cause of both fires are under investigation.
