To the Editor: Please consider the Green-Rainbow Party and its candidates in the state-wide races

To the Editor:

Dear Neighbor: I am very impressed with a team of three Green-Rainbow candidates, who are running for statewide office and will be on the November ballot. They are: Danny Factor for Secretary of State; Ian Jackson for Treasurer; and MK Merelice for Auditor. For more information on them, go to green-rainbow.org/candidates.

Most of you have not heard of these candidates. Isn’t it the responsibility of the media to help inform the public about all candidates who are running for public office? It is true that the Green-Rainbow Party and its candidates are running a statewide campaign on a tiny budget, but should their “poverty” be a reason for their exclusion?

These candidates oppose the very tiny elite who own and rule our planet, country, commonwealth, and city. They oppose the poisoning of our planet, the harm done to our communities, and the trauma suffered by many of our fellow human beings. They stand for an economy and political system that will heal our planet and promote human rights. They believe that all of us deserve respect, love, and the right to live in safe and healthy communities. Should their principles and values be a reason for exclusion from media attention?

Recently, this team created a Community Uplift Initiative that calls for the enactment of an “Economic Bill of Rights” for everyone in the commonwealth that would shift budget priorities from corporate welfare for a tiny elite to efforts to enrich our communities.

The plan calls for giving communities like Dorchester access to funds that we can choose how to invest, be it affordable housing, community healthcare, or improved schools.

I urge that you look at this initiative (tinyurl.com/communityuplift), do your research, and vote for candidates like Merelice, Danny and Ian, who support your values and principles. Thank you.
