Walsh

Marty Walsh is currently a state representative for Dorchester and chair of the Ethics Committee. He has held the State House job since a special election in 1997, when Jim Brett stepped down. "He’s always talked about running for mayor," his mother Mary said at his mayoral campaign kick-off. "He always talked about politics." In 2010, he took a top union post -- secretary-treasurer and general agent of the Boston Building Trades Council -- which he left earlier this year, after declaring his candidacy for mayor. Megan Costello is his campaign manager.

His responses to the Dorchester Reporter questionnaire are available here.
