A pier fire at the Dorchester Yacht Club off the Southeast Expressway erupted late Wednesday afternoon and went to two alarms because of the difficulty of fighting it, the Boston Fire Department reports.  Read more

The Boston Fire Department reports a fire called in around 5:45 a.m on Monday at 28 Harvard Ave. sent a 13-year-old boy to Massachusetts General Hospital with burns.  Read more

Firefighter injured at two-alarm fire

A short circuit in a second-floor bedroom caused a two-alarm fire Saturday morning at 101 Maxwell St., the Boston Fire Department reports.

No residents were injured in the fire, reported around 9:40 a.m., but one firefighter was taken to Carney Hospital with a head injury, the department says. Damage was estimated at $200,000.

A fire reported around 1 p.m. on Saturday in a two-family house at 25-27 Gallivan Blvd. quickly went to two alarms.

The Boston Fire Department reports the fire - just steps from the fire station at Gallivan Boulevard and Morton Street, was knocked down around 1:30 p.m., after doing roughly $300,000 in damage. The cause of the blaze, which apparently started in a second-floor bedroom, is now under investigation, the department says.

One resident was taken to a local hospital with smoke inhalation. A total of six residents are now homeless.

A three-alarm fire that broke out around 3 a.m. on Tuesday at 40 Westwind Rd. left an elderly man dead and sent four residents and one firefighter to the hospital, the Boston Fire Department reports.  Read more

Two-alarm fire on Quincy Street displaces ten

The Boston Fire Department reports a two-alarm fire called in around 4:45 a.m. at 487 Quincy St. did an estimated $200,000 in damage.

Eight adults and two children were displaced, but no residents were injured. The cause is still under investigation.

A fire reported around 2:30 a.m. did an estimated $350,000 in damage to a two-family house at 47 Codman Hill Ave., the Boston Fire Department says.  Read more

A lightning strike shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday caused a three-alarm fire that did an estimated $250,000 to the three-family house at 9 Alban St., the Boston Fire Department reports.  Read more

Early morning fire displaces 10 in Fields Corner

The Boston Fire Department reports a three-alarm fire at 3 Robinson St. broke out shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, March 5, did an estimated $500,000 in damage and sent one firefighter to the hospital with a shoulder injury.

None of the ten residents in the house were injured, but the Red Cross was called in to help find them places to stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Read more
