HURLEY, Agnes “Adjie” B. (Norton). Of Dorchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 20, 2026.
Loving mother of M. Douglass Hurley of Hull, Katie and her husband Gregory Jones of Dorchester, and the late Mary Beth Hurley and Jennifer Rose Hurley.
Cherished “Nanny” of Morgan Clare Hurley of Hull.
Sister of Terry Downie and her late husband Roderick of Milton, and the late Lauretta Proctor and her husband William.
Adjie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Adjie’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mark Church, 1725 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester, on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, at 9:30 A.M.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Adjie was a retired senior registrar for the City of Boston Election Department. She was a former crossing guard for the City of Boston, at St. Mark Grammar School. She was a graduate of St. Patrick High School, Roxbury, Class of 1962, and a proud member of St. Kevin’s Parish Emerald Knights Drum and Bugle Corps Color Guard. She loved traveling the world, visiting many places, including Europe, China, Japan, and Australia.
She also loved visiting Disney World with her daughter Katie, and spending time in West Dennis with her family.
