Shietamar is an ambitious student who always sets herself apart. With a final GPA of 4.25, she has challenged herself with a rigorous course load that includes honors, dual enrollment classes, and eight Advanced Placement (AP) classes: AP Computer Science, AP English Seminar, AP Biology, AP Language & Composition, AP Art, AP Pre-Calculus, AP Government and Politics, and AP African American Studies (earning a perfect 4 of 4 on the African American Studies exam).

She transfers her passion for art into her community as a teen with Artists for Humanity in South Boston, where she creates artwork for local organizations and businesses. Her participation in programs such as Upward Bound and the National Honor Society reflect her commitment to leadership and college readiness.
She is also a member of the TBA Senior Council, where she contributes to her school community and takes on leadership responsibilities.
As a first-generation college student, she is motivated by a deep sense of responsibility to her family, especially her father, who has been a constant source of support. Being the youngest and only daughter has inspired this valedictorian to succeed and create opportunities not only for herself, but also for her family’s future. She has navigated personal challenges while also recognizing the importance of celebrating her achievements.
She plans to pursue studies in health sciences at Northeastern University this fall. With her strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to growth, she is well prepared to thrive.
