Some 350 guests celebrated The Boston Project Ministries’ 30th Anniversary at a gala a Venezia Restaurant on Sept. 29, where BPM announced the public launch of a $1 million capital campaign, called ‘A Home for Generations,’ aimed at establishing a youth and young adult center at 55-57 Southern Ave.

The Ministries group is based in the Talbot-Norfolk Triangle neighborhood adjacent to Codman Square.
By the end of the event, attendees and others had raised $75,000 for the center project, bringing their fundraising purse to $600,000, with $400,000 to go.

Gail Granville, TNT/CIA/DUN Neighborhood Association steering committee, and a Dorchester resident of more than 40 years.

In 1995, a number of Gordon College students in 1995 established BPM to mobilize teenage volunteers toward Christian service throughout Boston. A year later, two of the founders, Paul and Glenna Malkemes, moved its headquarters to their apartment in the Triangle.

Since that time, they’ve become rooted in the area and beyond with youth programming, an open space initiative that has yielded several pocket parks, and a neighborhood park on Elmhurst Street.
