Another special election: Dates set in race to replace Dorcena Forry

This just in from Secretary of the Commonwealth Bill Galvin's office, which oversees elections. With state Rep. Linda Dorcena Forry joining the state Senate next week, there will be an opening in the House of Representatives:

The House of Representatives today adopted an order for the September 10 election. The primary will be on August 13.

The deadline for submitting nomination papers to local registrars of voters to be certified is July 2, and the last day to file certified nomination papers with the Secretary of the Commonwealth is July 9. Nominations for the House of Representatives require a minimum of 150 certified signatures.

Nomination papers will be available at the Elections Division, Room 1705, McCormack State Office Building, One Ashburton Place, Boston, and the Election Department at Boston City Hall.

The 12th Suffolk District consist of Ward 16, precincts 8, 11; Ward 17, precincts 4, 10-14; Ward 18, precincts 1-6, 21 in the City of Boston, Suffolk County, and Precincts 1, 2 in the Town
of Milton, Norfolk County.

The list of potential candidates includes several current and former State House aides: Dan Cullinane, a former aide to state Rep. Marty Walsh; Mary Tuitt, an aide to state Rep. Gloria Fox; and Stephanie Everett, a former aide to state Sen. Sonia Chang-Diaz. Carlotta Williams of Hyde Park has also opened a campaign committee, according to the state Office of Campaign and Political Finance.
