One of two men accused of opening fire on a group of people on the porch of a Mattapan house last year has been ordered held without bail on a murder charge after his arraignment on Friday, Jan. 2 in Dorchester court.
Prosecutors allege that Kwessi Adom Silcott, 20, was the gunman who shot a barrage of bullets into the group that included 18 year-old high school student G’Kiyah Lewis, who later died from her injuries. Two other young people were wounded, but survived.
The attack happened on the afternoon of Oct. 11 at 2 Hiawatha Rd. a sidestreet off of Blue Hill Avenue.
Silcott surrendered to police on Jan. 1, according to DA Kevin Hayden’s office. His arrest took place days after another suspect in the triple-shooting— Dkhari Wornum-Brown, 20— was arrested and charged in the killing. He was also ordered to be held without bail.
Prosecutors say the two young men pulled up on a scooter driven by Wornum-Brown. Silcott was named as the shooter during his arraignment.
