Gintautas Dumcius has joined the staff of the Dorchester Reporter and the Mattapan Reporter as news editor. A Quincy native, he attended UMass Boston, where he was news editor of the student newspaper, the Mass Media. He has been a contributing reporter for the Reporter newspapers, as well as a freelance reporter at the State House News Service.
“We are delighted that Gin has agreed to join our staff on a full-time basis,” Reporter publisher Ed Forry said. “He has worked with our news gathering team for more than five years, and has developed a solid knowledge of local community and political affairs. His work as editor of our online ‘Lit Drop’ political news blog is one of the most widely-read features at our website, dotnews.com.
