Saturday (21st) – Neponset Greenway run and walk sponsored by Trustees of the Reservation, Pope John Paul II Park. All participants arrive by 10:30a.m. for registration, and the race starts at 11 a.m. Please bring a canned good, root vegetable, or squash for donation, or $5 to support food access programs.

Holiday tree lighting tour set for Nov. 28
The annual holiday tree lighting tour of Dorchester villages will be held on Sat., Nov. 28 beginning at 3 p.m. in Neponset Circle. The event is organized by the Dorchester Holiday Celebrations Committee and the Mayor’s Office.
The stops on this year’s tour will include Neponset Circle (3 p.m.); Port Norfolk (3:30p.m.); Harbor Point (4 p.m.); Meetinghouse Hill’s Allen Park (4:30p.m.); Uphams Corner at the Strand Theater (5 p.m.); Blessed Mother Theresa at 5:30 p.m. 6:00 Ryan Playground (6 p.m.) Fields Corner’s Doherty/Gibson Playground (6:30 p.m.); Adams/King St Playground (7p.m.) and Peabody Square at 7:30 p.m.
A separate, citywide trolley tour will make three local stops next month: Codman Square and Mattapan will have tree lightings on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. respectively. Adams Corner will have its official tree lighting on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. Lower Mills will light its tree at Meetinghouse Bank during this Thursday’s Holiday Stroll at 5:15 p.m.
